So I just happen to glance at my "What's Happening" side bar and see trending "Rigby Middle School" with no context. I have not seen the news.

My brain:

My thought stream comes to a screeching halt and the first thought is: "Not another one."
So I clicked the side bar with dread already afraid of what I was going to see and I see it, in black and white.

Another school shooting. Fuck.
And here come the tweets and comments from the authorities and senators, the cries of shock and thoughts and prayers and the classic this so unforseen no one could predicted this but now is not the time to discuss change bullshit. Soon it'll be a flood of empty words and shit.
And nothing will be done and by this time tomorrow or the next day there will be another one and the cycle starts all over.
So if how/when are we supposed to discuss the problem if discussing the problem during the crises is too political or too hard when the goddamned crisis NEVER FUCKING ENDS.

Enough. Fuck.
Find your law maker and demand change. Common sense gun laws, federal universal background checks including for domestic violence, mandatory firearm security (locks and safes), a ban on AR-15 style semi automatic weapons, large mags and bump stocks.

Use that link to also demand better mental health care, reroute excess money and toys from cops and give it to social services and give them the resources to help people in distress so that a person who's hurting has help and a way to cope that doesn't involve hurting others.
And if your law maker, local or otherwise, dismisses this problem or ignores you, drag everything they say to you to the media.

Don't take no for an answer. They work for us. Remind them of it.
