Few thoughts today.
1. Where are the cases coming from? Workplaces? Schools? I have trouble believing that they are not areas of transmission.
2. Where on earth is our Premier or Health Minister? Are they in hiding? Did they take a week off? The virus certainly didn't. #mbpoli
3. Did the modeling provided to public health (but not the public) show increases like this?
4. What further steps is the province going to take?
5. Government needs to be more transparent with Manitobans to rebuild public trust. I feel they've lost folks at this point.
6. We've heard for months that we had a 20,000 daily vaccine plan. Still not even close- around 6,000 Monday. Where is the accountability?
7. I have to assume that the North Dakota "plan" is dead in the water at this point.
8. Pallister in October:"government can't protect you from this virus, you have to protect each other and that’s our obligation as friends, as family members, as citizens of this beautiful province."
It's clear government has a role, but more evident that he's not up to the job.
9. I have to wonder what @PCcaucus MLAs are thinking right now as their own colleagues and leader are MIA. It's a dereliction of duty to protect the health of Manitobans. Plain and simple. Not too late to speak out and save lives.
10. Anyways, thank you all for reading and sharing. I felt optimistic yesterday, but quickly returned to the reality that this government has no plan forward. Stay safe, #StayHome and check in on your friends and family. -30-
11. Sorry, one more thought. We've been through this cycle before. We know what will work and what we need to do. The government needs to put aside it's ideological opposition to helping people and learn from their past mistakes.
