in 7th grade i had a devastating crush on an 8th grade guy, he played guitar in a blink-182 cover band. everyone knew it, including him. he put in his AIM away message, "stop telling me to go out with molly o'brien and maybe i'll go out with her!"

we were both in the "district band" aka a combined symphonic band from a bunch of schools in the area. we drove to practice in the same car...99.9 THE BUZZ was playing "wonderwall" and i thought i was going to die...it was so romantic

eventually it was abundantly clear he didn't like me. oh well! i learned to play guitar! "ms. o'brien said she would play the terrible cover of 'first date' herself"
