The problem, I think, is that this issue has been flattened into “I’m tired of being called out for being racist” when I think it’s actually something more genuine. ‘Walking on eggshells,’ ‘tip-toeing,’ etc fundamentally limits discourse, even when we’re all ‘on the same team.’

To put this another way:

If your reaction to this post is “ugh, another cis white dude complaining about not being able to say the racist/sexist/homophobic stuff he wants” then you are who I am talking about!
