my favorite meechy darko lyrics: a thread

in honor of meech’s first solo album being almost done, here’s some of my favorite examples of the criminally underrated rapper’s insane lyricism @MeechIsDEAD
best way to start this is w his best verse ever, RIPCD off 3001. the imagery, double entendres, and wordplay are incredible from start to finish. you can stop reading and just go listen to this verse, and i promise you’ll be blown away.
meechy thrives off braggadocios rap, and here’s one of my favorite examples. can’t think of many (if any) rappers that can outrap darko.
absurdly clever, the reference between dawg/dog, the dog whisperer, those famous dog paintings, just mannnn
his first verse on my favorite album of all time is just immaculate. the rhyme schemes.....
one of my favorite little bars of his. nothing can hold darko.
meechy opens one of the zombies most popular songs w a powerful message.
he always references being above all spiritually, and lines like this are just insane. to be fair, 5 years after this early mixtape, he had somehow gotten even better.
one of my favorite zombies singles (skepta has a crazy verse), i’ve always loved this line. just so clever.
meechy always references the devil and hell, and this is one of my favorite examples. he seems to think he got the best of the devil.
the outro to 3001 is one of the best rap songs ever. he destroys this track.
off of a solo song on betteroffdead, meechy reminds us he’s afraid of nothing.
new phone who dis is just ridiculous. i just can’t believe you could hear this song without your jaw dropping.
cheeky line about the superficial lives we live today. always makes me laugh.
meechy darko claims he’s not human, and fuck it, i believe him.
i’ll end w this one, off of a collab w action bronson. just grimy and raw.
there’s countless more, and meechy darko murders every single track he has ever been on (anyone who loves piñata knows this).

hope this encourages y’all to check out the zombies work before meechy drops. he’s better than your favorite rapper.
