hey i found out it's mental health awareness month in the US rn and like
i don't live there but

please be mindful of people who have PTSD. it's not just war vets, nor is it just war vets with the ''real bad'' ptsd.
if you know someone has it and they ask you to stop, then stop.
it can be incredibly damaging to them to ignore this and keep going with whatever you're doing. i'm not saying you should let them use their condition as an excuse or smth, just know that if they ask you to stop it's probably for a reason.
you're not entitled to a list of their triggers beforehand, that's theirs to decide, especially since some of them may have shared their triggers in good faith before only to have it played off as some sort of joke.
as someone who suffers from PTSD, i can just safely say that it's honestly hell to be stuck in flashbacks, especially if they're instantiated by someone you thought you could trust blatantly ignoring you when you ask them to stop demeaning behavior in regards to your trigger.
but yeah that'll be it for this thread that barely anyone will see, just be mindful, and that goes for other mental conditions as well, not just PTSD.
