@dhh & @jasonfried, if you really want to show employees, clients & stakeholders that you care about having an inclusive workplace at @basecamp you need a DEI Strategy. If you were my client, here’s how I’d develop your DEI strategy using my framework:

The only reference for promoting DEI on the website is a section titled “giving a damn.” It says “We treat people right. We treat our customers as we’d want to be treated, we treat each other like family, and we treat ourselves to a good day’s work and a good night’s sleep.”
@dhh & @JasonFried this is jargony wording that& #39;s performative & empty. It doesn’t connect to the company& #39;s overall mission, which according to the website is “making waves while building great software.” Heres the SWOT analysis I did to develop a DEI mission for @basecamp
