Five years ago today we lost Jude to influenza B. He failed to develop immunity from his #FluShot and local immunization rates are low.

Today I got my first dose of #COVIDVaccine, and that could save someone else's family.

Like the flu, everyone who gets #COVID19 gets it from someone else. Your choice to get vaccinated doesn't only help protect you, it protects everyone you might come in contact with. No vaccine is a guarantee, but they're our best first defense. Thank you for doing your part. 2/7

This year has been hard and we've lost a lot. When we get control of #COVID19 we'll get to start making up for lost time, but we'll never get our lost loved ones and neighbours back. We have more work to do. Get your #COVIDVaccine, #StayHome unless essential, #WearAMask . 3/7

And please support vaccine equity. We only get through this together and we need to do better protecting people who are at the highest risk of exposure and spread. We're getting there. Let's support plans that get as many of us safely through this as possible. 4/7

It will never be okay that Jude is gone. He is missing from everything we do and that doesn't get better. It's been hard this year to watch so many Canadians lose their lives and loved ones. There's never a good time to lose someone, but #COVID19 has made everything harder. 5/7

We miss you, buddy. You deserved more time, and so does everyone who's still here.
