Lots of strawmanning in the past 24 hours that a vaccine IP waiver is a horrible *substitute* for spending gobs more money on global vaccine rollout.

I haven& #39;t seen anyone (in the Biden admin or beyond) suggest that trade-off, which I agree would be bad.
On the contrary, I take the administration& #39;s announcement yesterday as a sign they are finally getting serious about the global vaccine response, and more actions are *more* likely to follow than before.
And if you& #39;re in the camp that thinks IP is irrelevant to our current vaccine shortage, then great. They& #39;ve just neutralized that issue. Let& #39;s move on to debating how to relieve other putatively more binding constraints.
