I was listening to Have it All by Elephante and Nevve and it’s giving me Akito and Shigure so I’ll break down why. Spoiler alert!
These lines scream Shigure to me. The way he is determined to break the curse at all costs and is not reluctant or scared to manipulate to achieve that. He’s the mastermind behind everything but he’s so “sly” and makes it so hard to understand his motives. No one does it like him
These remind me of Akito. She’s obsessed with affirming her control over Shigure (and ofc the others) but he knows what to say and do to throw her off. While the curse makes the power dynamics uneven, Shigure manages to have some control, making her lose sight of what to do.
Akito again. The “cursing my reflection line” made me scream while listening lmao. She’s aware of the fact that things can change, and does not want to accept it in the slightest. She is doing her best to make the zodiacs stay, because it’s not like she knows anything else.
Back to Shigure. I wish we could see him smoke in the reboot but Ig not. He’s bound by Akito because of the curse, because of the dream... these lines make me think of when he told Tohru he wishes he’d dreamt of her instead. “But you can have it all” (1)
(2) he says being cursed doesn’t bother him but him and Akito both are definitely the most cursed of all and their ending makes that very clear
End of thread, this was very superficially done but I haven’t listened to this song in years and I got so excited when it made me think of them and had to tell someone immediately. I hope it’s not boring!
