it was the first day of university. you tried to look at your best to leave a great impression, at least. suddenly, you bumped into a tall man who looked really lost or more like nervous, you guessed.

you took the courage to ask him if he was fine. he nodded and yet he& #39;s still not looking at you. scaredy cat, you thought.

"why not walk with me? what are you taking anyway?" you asked him.

he looked at you and heard him gulped. "engineering" he said.

you pulled him by his sleeves and smiled. "good thing our buildings are near towards each other! i& #39;m taking architecture!" you happily conversed with him while he stood there looking at you. and that was the first time mingyu& #39;s heart melt.

with that sudden encounter, you became friends with mingyu since then. you don& #39;t ever feel lonely at all whenever you& #39;re with him. he makes you smile effortlessly and you love it, so much that it makes your heart ache.

sometimes, he would bring you your favorite food while he waits for you outside of your campus. he& #39;d wave at you the moment he sees you and would pat your head, saying, "you did well today"

you were spoiled by kim mingyu.

mingyu loves spending time with you in the library, studying. of course, an engineering student like him must work hard daily in order for him to have a nice job in the future, that& #39;s what he thought. but when he steals a glance from you, his heart just jumps.

weird.

you started to feel confused by how nervous he was whenever he& #39;s with you. sometimes, when your hand just accidentally bumps into his, he gets all flustered and stuttery. he wasn& #39;t like this before, you thought.

"is everything all right?" you asked him.

of course he wasn& #39;t.

he wasn& #39;t sure of how he felt towards you. but whenever he just sees you, his heart would squeeze and butterflies would fill his stomach. mingyu loves your smile and that& #39;s why he becomes the reason why those laughs are so filled with genuine joy.

he never wanted to assume he was in love with you yet because it may ruin everything — or maybe even loosing you. he was too afraid to admit it so he just hides it instead.

but those little things mingyu did, made you think about him at night. you found yourself smiling like an idiot on the ceiling, trying to reminisce those moments you have with him.

you distinctly remembered that time when it was midnight, he called you from outside, holding two cans of cold coffee from the vending machine near your apartment. you felt the warmth wrapped around your heart when he smiled.

he wanted to take your mind off a bit from the upcoming nerve-wracking finals week. he knows that you& #39;re stressed about it so he makes an effort to bring you outside for fresh air.

mingyu brought you to an overlooking view of the city at night. city lights flashed before your eyes and admired how beautiful they were. and so, mingyu took the chance to capture you from behind, alongside with the city lights.

for a while, you, yourself felt nervous as well. whenever he& #39;s around you feel pressured all of a sudden. it was like, you needed to tell him everything before it was too late. but at the back of your mind, there were so many & #39;what ifs& #39;

what if i loose him? what if i ruin this?

as days passed by, mingyu knew he couldn& #39;t hold it any longer. he was already deeply in love with you. he didn& #39;t care if it& #39;ll hurt in the end but it was now or never, he thought.

after classes have ended, mingyu sent you a text telling you to meet him later at the spot where he took you out to see the city lights. "i have a secret to tell you" he stated. at that time, your heart pounded so fast that you went home with your cheeks so red.

and so you did, you went to that exact place and saw a mini set up with stolen photographs of you. you looked at them one by one and realized that, mingyu took pictures of you whenever you weren& #39;t looking.

a picture caught your eye. it was you, smiling so prettily while you were busy looking at the city lights at night. your heart squeezed tightly as soon as you saw it, then smiled.

mingyu was there, mustering up the courage to tell you the secret he has been hiding. he walked slowly towards you and then your eyes met as his fragile heart melted.

"i have a secret, will you promise to hear me out?"

you nodded and smiled. "yeah..."
