Rentible / $RNB -- The First Mover Making Property Rentals Possible on the Blockchain

This thread is about $RNB, a project I like to think about as the “AirBNB” of the blockchain -- but with a much bigger scope.
TLDR:

- The rental property industry is estimated to be worth between $1.7 and $3+ trillion.
- AirBNB, which focuses on *vacation* rentals (and is limited to certain geographical locations), has a market valuation of $100 billion and an annual revenue of $3.4 billion.
- $RNB is the FIRST project aiming to make rental deals possible on the blockchain -- using crypto payments.
- Unlike AirBNB, Rentible isn’t just restricted to vacation rentals yet it is a nanocap (at around $8 million right now) compared to AirBNB’s $100 billion valuation.
1/ What problem does $RNB solve?

$RNB allows landlords and tenants to make rental deals on the blockchain -- using cryptocurrency as payment.

With a market cap of $8 million, $RNB is a “nanocap” and has to increase by 12,500x to get to AirBNB’s $100 billion market valuation.
2/ While getting that big might look far-fetched, let’s take a look at a few advantages $RNB has over existing market solutions like AirBNB:
=> $RNB eliminates unnecessary fees e.g. payment processing, currency conversion, and service processing fees common with centralized services.

=> Several processes are automated using the blockchain in a way that helps cut down on costs -- ensuring reduced fees for users.
=> For example, centralized platforms like AirBNB charge up to 17.2%. It can also cost up to 10% to change currencies between countries. $RNB completely eliminates this and is more competitive as a result.
=> Since property deeds are uploaded to the blockchain with $RNB, rental fraud is highly unlikely.

=> Enabling crypto for rental payments eliminates a lot of hassles for tourists and travelers who want to rent property without having to worry about the currency-related hassles.
=> Unlike other centralized platforms, $RNB will allow holders/stakers of its token to access loans for short-term rental payments.
3/ While we don’t really have a blockchain competitor to compare $RNB to (other than using #AirBNB’s massive $100 billion valuation!), we can look into the success of another first mover attempting to solve a major real world problem with crypto:

$SPI
4/ $SPI, which lets people shop online with crypto, currently has a market valuation of $115 million (and a valuation of $280m at its peak). This is despite being just a few months’ old.

I won’t be surprised to see $RNB have its own $SPI-like rally to be honest (huge upside!).
5/ Team

While $RNB has a very ambitious goal, its team inspires confidence:

The $RNB team is made up of people with experience in the European blockchain and property tech industry:
6/ CEO Dror Lupu leads http://SmartoLogic.io , a blockchain consultancy firm that with clients that include $COTI, Antelope, and IronFX.

$RNB team members also have experience in the European property rentals industry, leading platforms like RoomMatesUK and Lakotarsak.
7/ Tokenomics

$RNB has a winning, well-thought-out tokenomics:

- A max supply of 3,500,000 tokens.
- Of these 3.5 million tokens, 770,000 is vested for 12 months and 115,500 from private sale is vested for 4 months. So 885,500 tokens are out of circulation right now.
8/ Tokenomics (contd)

- Rentible will lock 25% of tokens used to transact on its platform quarterly -- up to a total of 525,000 tokens -- when its platform launches.
$RNB holders/stakers can use their tokens to get short-term loans for rental payments.
9/ Tokenomics (contd)

- $RNB holders/stakers will get up to 50% discount when they use the Rentible platform or transact with $RNB’s partners.
- Liquidity is locked for 1 year.
10/ So is $RNB going to do 12,500x and hit AirBNB’s $100 billion market cap?

Nobody knows.

However, a valuation of $1 billion (which is 1/100 of AirBNB’s current value) isn’t unrealistic for a successful $RNB -- and that’s 125x from where it is right now.
11/ While I first posted about $RNB last week when it was under $1 (and it’s rallied and done about 4x since), it is still a good long-term hold for me.

It’s worth noting that the $RNB platform won’t launch until Q4 this year, though.
12/ I expect a huge rally in the price of the token leading up to then -- but it's up to the market to decide.
