I'm 100% against vanity metrics like followers.
But it's also a "necessary evil" in today's world.
It seems that 10k is the tipping point at which you can really start to make a living from your content, so that's the goal.

Step #1 - Set my whys. Why do I want 10k followers?
→ Make a full-time living as a creator.
→ Build a trusted brand that brings me opportunities.
→ Connect with creators in the same stage as I am.
→ Inspire, empower and help other creators with my own journey as an example.

Step #2 - Establish my personal monopoly.
What makes me unique?
To find out, I took my experience + my skills + a sprinkle of my personality.
This is the result

I talk about how other creators use social media content to grow their audience or business.
I analyze them, extract (or steal) the key insights, and repurpose them into actionable and digestible content.
This is what makes me unique as a creator.
I analyze them, extract (or steal) the key insights, and repurpose them into actionable and digestible content.
This is what makes me unique as a creator.
Why does it matter? Well, it gives me:
→ A direction on what to talk, read, and investigate about
→ A unique positioning for myself on Twitter
Now I know what my goal is every time I write a piece of content.
I have a direction, and that makes the journey ahead easier.

Step #3 - Defining my content pillars
These are the lenses through which I will be getting the message to my audience (h/t @jackbutcher for the concept).
What each of these pillars gives me is a different way to approach the idea and how to bring it to life. Check'em

Step #4 - Spin some content ideas
These will be the topics I will be writing about on Twitter, in the form of tweets & threads.
I used the content pillars as the base.
Constraints = More ideas

Step #5 - Set a content style
As a general rule, I like to keep my content short, value-packed, and visually appealing.
For the threads, the main point I will be working on is how to make top-tier 1st tweets.

Step #6 - Commit to a Frequency
Twitter threads are the name of the game in terms of growth.
Optimistically, I would want to shoot for 5 threads x week, then repurpose a lot of the thread content into single tweets.
So → 5 threads x week + 2 high-quality single tweets x day

Step #7 - Step up my engagement game
Making friends with creators who are on a similar stage will be a top priority in the next three months.
How?
→ Send 1 meaningful DM x day
→ Leave 5 meaningful replies on other's content x day
→ Lift other's content up (RTs, quote RTs)

And this is it, this is my plan to get to 10k followers in the next 3 months.

TL;DR. What you can steal from my strategy.
→ Set your WHYS.
→ Uncover your personal monopoly.
→ Create a content strategy that makes it easy for you to create. For me, that means the content pillars and having 8-10 topics that I can look at for inspiration.

TL;DR (con't)
→ Make your content short, valuable, and visually appealing.
→ Write threads.
→ Set a frequency and commit to it. Consistency is the name of the game.
→ Focus on making friends and not getting followers. One thing will lead to the other.
