Once an emperor by name Yadu asked Dattatreya Prabhu " Oh, sage I would like to know how you could be in a state of bliss, please enlighten me on these aspects ?"

Dattatreya said " O king, I am in this state as a result of blessings from my 24 preceptors ..

1. Earth - She does not lose her patients. I learnt patience and self control from Earth.

2. Air - Wind blows through flower garden n burial grounds does not get hurt by foul smell or gets stuck with flowery fragrance. I learnt nothing is permanent in this world

3. Sky - The sky welcomes everyone but it never gets attached to any I learn this lesson from the sky.

4. Water - it purified everything, changes all bad qualities in others.
Dattatreya said that he learnt the quality of being pure n cleansing others from water.

5. Fire - Consumes everything still it is pure. Sadhak should accept what he gets, offer it to God and consume it.

6. Moon - It waxes and wanes but in reality neither of this happens. Same with the soul it has neither birth or death.

7. Sun - Through evaporation it collects water in the form of clouds and sends it down to earth as rain. Same way Yogi collects wealth without desire to hoard it. He distributes what he collects to needy.

8. Dancer Pingala - She realised desire for wealth and dancing b4

undeserving ppl was waste of precious life. So she resigned from all worldly activities and spent time in meditation. Learnt that desire is the root cause of misery.

9. Python - Taught that one should be satisfied with whatever food he/she gets not desire for more .

10. Ocean - thought of being dignified. Hundreds of rivers joins it it does not grow bigger nor does it grow smaller when it dries up

11. Fly - fly goes near the fire and gets burnt. The same way man desire everything which appears attractive and gets lost.

Fly taught not to have excessive desire for things.

12. Bee - Bee hops from flower to flower does not harm the flower.
But man in his greed destroys the beehive killing all the bees to get honey for himself. Collect wisdom do not destroy the source.

13 . Deer : deer get attracted by the music and gets caught in the net. One should never be attracted to undesirable music they attract our sense organs drive them towards destruction

14 . Fish : not to get attracted like fish which by the bait stuck to the hook and gets killed
