10 mistakes to avoid before your 30’s.

// Thread
“You have to be nice”

Don’t confuse being nice with kindness.

Nice = concerned with not upsetting someone.

Kind = concerned with doing what is right.

Nice often leads to a lot of "yes", wanting to be liked.

Respect yourself. Your own time. Do what is right.
“Save your money”

Money in your bank account doesn't multiply. Find ways to keep your money in motion. Learn about crypto, stocks, real estate. Have skin in the game. A $50 investment profit or $50 investment loss will teach big life lessons. Always be compounding.
“You are young”

People will say you are young in your 20’s, 30’s, 40’s to make you feel good. This leads to thinking you have time. You do. But don’t wait to “start” or “succeed”. Get working. In reality, you will always want to feel young.
“Don’t change for anyone”

Change is necessary. It means you are growing. It’s a good thing. If anything, avoid people that are reluctant to change. Life requires you to learn about yourself. To adapt. Illuminate yourself. Change is growth.
“You shouldn’t compare”

Comparing with others isn’t the problem. Your reaction is. In most cases, comparing leads to envy and demotivation. They just started before you. Or they are simply doing something better. You should learn from them. Let this be your energy to improve.
“Follow your passion”

The common answer to “What should I do with my life?”. It’s OK to not have a “passion”. You can even say passion is short-term emotional comfort. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Find what you’re great at & help others. It's what you should follow.
“What if?”

It’s the question that kills all dreams. “What if”. Lose your fear of criticism. Fear of failure. Fear of offending people. Fear of being disliked. You will never know how much you can achieve in life without taking risks. Let making mistakes be your fuel.
“Good things happen if you wait”

Most people are waiting for a miracle. The lottery tickets. There is no such thing as luck. Luck happens after you put in the work. Things don’t come to you unless you go after them. Start chasing. Stop waiting.
“Don’t waste time on social media”

Change your habits: Less scrolling & less arguing. Help with your skills. It has never been this cheap to start a business. Companies make millions $$ via social media. Your online presence an asset, not a liability. Build in this digital age.
“Focus on your goals”

Don’t focus on the end result, the trophy. Instead, study the process. How will you get to that goal? Embrace procedures. Tasks. Systems. It is the small things you do on the daily that will add up to achieving that goal. Systems lead to results. Not goals.
These mistakes also apply if you are over 30.

Many “common sayings” shouldn’t be followed.
