QRT for easy threading... thank u for sharing ur experience... As someone that pushed thru their CS major and graduated, I literally hated and did poorly in every required CE+Math class. https://twitter.com/ryomams/status/1389324761163911169">https://twitter.com/ryomams/s...
Regardless of how interesting the content was(/n& #39;t), I really didn& #39;t ever get a proper learning experience from those classes.
not even exclusive to lower division, they all were antiquated and used brutal tests to weed out students. It was always a testing > learning experience.
And none of the knowledge from these classes rly applied to future classes. I got a nice barely-passing C in calc integrals... and proceeded to never use integrals again
By the way, why they decide to make both of the calc classes that shouldnt be taught online (pre-pandemic), specifically taught online ??? baffles me still
Whats most painful still after graduating, is that the capstone classes were the closest thing to a proper learning experience & a good way to build skills for the industry... except you can pretty much only take the bare minimum of them b4 graduating bc the major is so impacted.
So I ended up learning all of the teamwork and production skills that the major felt like not teaching till senior year impacted capstone courses.............. in my freshman year just by going to a club!!!!!!! not even as a programmer!!!! but as a hobby artist!!! (thank you GDA)
and this is assuming that the capstone classes are flawless, which they arent, and i have to stop myself from going on a rant about how shitty my 115b/c experience was, not even bc of a surprise pandemic, but bc the company sponsoring our project just didnt give a shit about us
and i forgot where this thread was going but i am now sitting here still sending out job apps almost a year after graduating, where all of my interviews are based off the knowledge of literally one single class...
