Voters across England, Scotland, and Wales will go to the polls to cast their votes. These elections could have big implications for the Union - here's what to watch out for

In Scotland, indyref2 has been a key campaign issue. If the SNP or pro-independence parties win a majority, then they will request the power to hold another vote. All eyes will be on how the PM responds to a request

If the PM says no, the SNP is expected to introduce the indyref bill they published before the election anyway - and it's likely the courts will decide whether they can hold the vote. https://www.instituteforgovernment.org.uk/scotland-manifesto-tracker
Even if the SNP get their referendum there are tough questions to answer over Scotland's fiscal positions and the implications of independence for the Anglo-Scottish border (check out IfG's latest reports). Now to Wales where polls predict Labour will remain the biggest party in the Senedd Cymru. But will they get enough seats to govern alone or need a coalition partner? Plaid Cymru looks like the most likely candidate. https://www.instituteforgovernment.org.uk/wales-manifesto-tracker
Plaid's manifesto contained a bold commitment to hold a referendum on Welsh independence - so constitutional reform would be on the agenda in any negotiations. On the other end of the spectrum, it's possible Abolish the Assembly party might also pick up some seats.
