It’s difficult to ‘celebrate success’ during a pandemic when so many have lost so much but we wanted to acknowledge the amazing partnership work between our community partners and our @AwcModality team to increase vaccination uptake. The graph says it all.
The blue line shows a rapid uptake of vaccines from our lowest IMD decile to 80% which compares very favourably across similar populations in the UK. As @WYHpartnership said ‘we are an outlier but in a good way!’
Our work involved pop up clinics in community settings and working with trusted community voices in communities and we rapidly seconded about 30 VCS colleagues to help us. We got everyone together yesterday to say a big thank you as the funding ended in April @NHSBfdCraven
And the organisations and staff from @DFKeighley @Project6_ as well. As @TomRatcliffe2 said this was really important work that has saved lives. I’m really proud to have been part of this and showing the effectiveness of health and community working together @nagina_j @jddrury
Finally thanks to @KeighleyCouncil mayor Peter Corkindale to local councillor Chris Graham and our PPG chair Karen Foulger who all said thank you on behalf of the town, the residents and patients as well in our Covid secure long Lee vaccination centre
