God body by @itsLaycon is not just some regular rap, it's deeper than that. I can't count the number of the number of times I've listened to it, but the more I listen the more I love it more, the more I connect with the song. This is how I see this song as a Muslim
The song is about @itsLaycon telling the world how he's connected to God, how deep this relationship is.
He said "Listen good this is god talking. Talk about designers I'm the god model"
At first, one would think he's calling himself God for boast, but infact he's telling himself and us how he has manifested some attributes of God.
As a Muslim, I connect so much with this declaration. I'll bring examples from Islamic sources (Quran and Hadith) to analyse this.
In Quran chapter 48 verse 10, Allah says "Those who pledge allegiance with you (by placing their hands in your hand)- they, in fact, pledge allegiance with Allah. Allah’s hand is over their hands." This verse is referring to the Pledge of Hudaibiyah in the history of Islam.
The Muslims placed dia hand nd Muhammad placed his hand on dia hand, bt Allah says it is His hand that was on dia hands. Does dat mean that his hand is God's hand? This expression is d type of the expression used by @itsLaycon. It shows dat such a person manifests God's attribute
Another example in Quran, In chapter 8 verse 17
"...And you did not throw when you threw but Allah did throw"
This is regarding an incident that happened during battle of Ditch. When Muhammad saw the overwhelming Meccan coalition army ready to crush them...
he prayed to God and he threw a handful of sand, a violent wind began in the enemy camp. God was referring to this incident here, it was Muhammad that threw sand but God said He did, does that make Muhammad God? This is also the same type of expression.
@itsLaycon also said
"God is me and I am Him"
God talks about this here;
"When I Love my servant, I become his hearing with which he hears, and his sight with which he sees, and his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks". God bless you @itsLaycon for this
@itsLaycon also said
"God in my genes that's the true religion"
I feel that so much.
"God is just, fair, God believes we're equal"
This is a teaching discouraging racism in all forms. “All humans are descended from Adam and Eve,” said Muhammad in his last known public speech...
He continues;
“There is no superiority of an Arab over a non-Arab, or of a non-Arab over an Arab, and no superiority of a white person over a black person or of a black person over a white person, except on the basis of personal piety and righteousness.”
The messages I have derived from this song is much more than this but I can't express them all here. If I have chance of delivering a friday lecture, I may use this song and analysis it 😁🥰
One thing I learn from @itsLaycon here is that, be confident enough in yourself...
say positive things into your life. Hype yourself and recognize your greatness. The world will bear witness to your greatness. He recognized his own greatness, so the world also recognize him.
