The French boats are in Jersey waters, as is one of two Royal Navy vessels.

What fascinates me is how the story is viewed nationally v locally.

Off-island it looks like war. On-island it’s an early morning flurry of activity down the harbour.
The French flotilla is here, and the second Royal Navy vessel is now in Bailiwick waters.

Yet to see whether this show of protest becomes a blockade.

The flotilla is now heading back to open water after making its point in the harbour.

And, whatever your view, they’ve achieved a mass of international coverage.
