omega kacchan wants pups but he doesn’t like anybody, nor does he want an alpha telling him what to do.

so, he adopts.

enter alpha deku and his huge cause of baby fever who’s ecstatic and begs kacchan to let him meet the pup, becoming a huge influence in her life, but…

the only issue is that one day, the pup calls deku papa, and on the inside, deku’s alpha is raving with pride, but on the outside, he just anxiously glances over to see kacchan’s reaction: pale and 100% about to strangle deku. kacchan’s mind is running like, “no, no, please no”

kacchan’s happy being a single omega parent. he’s independent and doesn’t need anyone to help him, but seeing his baby call an alpha he’s known since he was young ‘papa’ makes his omega trill and he hates that. it only makes sense; deku’s been there since the beginning.

every appointment, every event, every milestone—deku was there, and maybe deku just likes the thought of having a pup to raise, but at the end of the day, it’s all pretend… until it’s not.

cue kacchan finally finding a potential mate after many years of denying himself.

the pup stays with deku while he beds the guy, and deku’s nose (as well as the pup’s) wrinkles when they show up the next morning.

then, deku’s off to work.

before going home for the night after his shift, he always, /always/ stops by to say goodnight to the pup first.

today is no different than the others as he walks into kacchan’s apartment, anticipating the happy pup to run and greet him; although she does, she smells like… another alpha, and that doesn’t sit well with deku’s inner alpha.

he swoops her up with the momentum of her running into his arms and uses that as an excuse to smell her more, all while she laughs and tells him how much she missed him.

out of the corner of his eye, kacchan gives him an apologetic look like he knows exactly what he’s thinking.

that’s okay. deku knew none of this was ever serious—that he was just playing a big game of house, but it still hurts.

that’s what the logical side of his brain says but his alpha refuses to accept it, dousing the pup in his own scent and completely covering the unknown alpha’s.

as she often does, she picks up on his distress and excessive scenting so she tries to calm him down, but it’s no good with how much he’s shaking at the thought of losing her to another alpha after putting so much effort in.

it’s… not fair.

she never does end up calling kacchan’s new boyfriend papa, no matter how hard they get her to do so, and it only confuses her more when they want her to call deku uncle instead of papa.

kacchan should’ve known that bringing an alpha into a newborn’s life would leave an imprint.
