Barry’s entire life and powers has essentially revolved around Iris the entire show. He was completely in love with her since before the show started and the writers have always done a great job of amplifying that. So here’s a little thread

To start, he was completely in love with her from the first episode and even tried telling her before they were interrupted. He even got borderline offended at her thinking he could ever love anyone other than her.

When he wakes up from his coma, his first thought is Iris. He runs out of star labs to see her. He doesn’t even think of his health or seeing his father, or even Joe, he goes straight to Iris.

They’re not even dating and he’s had something change his life so drastically yet all his focus through all of that is how in love he is with her and how much he wants to tell her. *He’s so dramatic i love him

Here, he’s supposed to be on a date with Felicity, and miss girl even got over dressed and everything for a literal cafe, but all he was focused on was Iris even though she was there with her boyfriend.

He started this episode off with a speech about the science behind love and he makes sure to slow down while speeding just so he can take a look at her, talk about whipped.

The cheeky little bastard didn’t even try to hide it when he was the Flash, he would flirt with her like nothing and all he cared about was making it real obvious he liked her despite talking about dangerous situations.

He finally tells Iris how he feels and despite it being an angsty scene, he just goes on and on about how much he loves her and only her.

Towards the mid season, he finds a girlfriend to try and move on but Iris becomes endangered and he drops everything to help her. He tries to calm Linda’s accusations of how he does in fact drop everything for Iris but then turns around and makes out with her.

After their kiss he accidentally erased, he ran to CCPN to break things off with Linda and not even a minute later, literally not a single minute, he goes to Iris to try with her.

In a deleted scene, Caitlin tells him that she was on his mind in her almost last moments and he looks bored as hell. Iris does the same and he looks at her as if she hung the moon before he kisses her despite the both of them being in relationships. I love cheaters <3

Barry’s love for Iris literally saves his life. He loved her so much that he fought compulsion for her, what’s more iconic than that?

In season two, Iris is still trying to overcome Eddie’s death and Barry wants to wait for her but Joe insists on him moving on. He literally coerces Barry into giving her a chance even after he make it explicitly clear she’s not good enough for him because she’s not Iris.

Eventually, he gives her a chance and he can’t even pretend to care about her. She almost died and he LAUGHED, I can’t imagine shipping that.

When she’s ready to break up with him, she actually starts begging him to ask her to stay. She cries and reaches out for her and he all but jumps away. Iris cries to him and he melts into her, he genuinely didn’t give a damn about Patty or anyone other than Iris.

Once he meets Earth two Iris, like an episode after the breakup, he completely forgot about Patty and pretty much fell in love with this version of Iris too.

When he gets back home, he brought something with him. Despite how insanely in love with her he is, he knew she was in so much pain and asked Eddie to leave a message for her so she could move on. He knew it would pain him but he put her above his own feelings

After this, Iris does open up about how she’s ready to move on but with her editor. Of course, Barry feels jealous but bites his tongue because she’s happier. In the end, Iris ditches Scott to help Barry in the end.

All throughout Flashpoint, his sole focus was getting Iris back no matter what. He learned her schedule and tried working up the courage to talk to her - his parents even made fun of him. He eventually did and even told her he was in love with her the second he met her.

When Caitlin becomes Frost, she becomes horrible but points out how Barry truly doesn’t care about anyone but Iris and he further proves that a bit later. She uses the line “Everyone else be damned” and Barry then yells at her in a later episode to risk herself to save Iris

He didn’t have any kind of memories and yet, he still automatically fell in love with her the moment he saw her. That’s love, it really is.

Still with no memories, he let Iris talk to him until they came back enough for him to save the city again. All he needed was the story of how they fell in love.

Barry was nearly dying and yet his only thought was her. She couldn’t even hear him but he couldn’t die before letting anyone know he loves Iris so much.

Frost being the selfish bitch she is, decided to try and flirt with Savitar by trying to convince him they were Caitlin and Barry, as if that would work, and he didn’t even take a second to brush her off. Iris looks at him and he leans into her, completely trusting her.

He’s so completely in love with her that his vows are too long, this was just too cute not to include.

Barry also has a major habit of bringing her up at the most randomest times. This man is in prison for a crime he didn’t commit and he found a way to make it about his love for Iris, iconic.

And lastly, when Barry is fighting Devoe all he needs to think about is Iris to get through it. Iconic!

they’re absolutely perfect and Barry has never loved anyone other than her, especially not a boring and selfish white woman!
