𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝘀 𝗛𝗧𝗥? - 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄
#Hathor is a proof of work layer 1 network for dApp creation much like $ETH, $DOT or $ADA for example. Their goal isn’t to replace those networks, they don’t see themselves as direct competitors and a rising tide lifts all boats. $HTR 2/25

#Hathor was created from scratch and the entirety of the code is open source. Their tech is most comparable to #Bitcoin as they implemented its most successful concepts, using the same PoW system for example, and improving on other lacking areas. $HTR 3/25

Proof of work (PoW) is a consensus algorithm used to validate transactions and add new blocks to the chain. Miners compete against each other using computational power to solve mathematical equations called 'proofs of work'. $HTR 4/25

The first miner to solve the puzzle confirms the most recent block of transactions and sends that new block to all other nodes for confirmation, producing a verifiable record for the entire network. $HTR 5/25

The first miner to validate a new block, adding it to the PoW chain, receives freshly minted tokens as a reward. While PoW #blockchains are typically less scalable, they have established security. $HTR 6/25

𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀
Spam issues that plague #Bitcoin and other networks are avoided with $HTR by requiring users to solve a PoW task for transactions, like block mining but with a much lower difficulty level. 7/25

𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝟮
As transaction volume increases, so does the network’s security level. As an added benefit, transaction mining allows users to share some of the miner’s workload, fortifying the decentralization of the network further. $HTR 8/25

Hathor combines PoW blockchain with DAG data structures for enhanced scalability by including a chain of mined blocks within a DAG of transactions. Without going into detail about DAG (directed acyclic graph), I’ll simply outline its significance. $HTR 9/25

#Hathor solves scalability and decentralization problems using DAG and blockchain data structures. The #blockchain ensures security during low transaction volume periods while DAG ensures optimal functionality during high volume periods. $HTR 10/25

𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗲
#Hathor can execute 200 transactions per second (TPS) and states that with tweaking, could handle 1800 TPS when the necessity arises. To put this in perspective, PayPal averages ~193 TPS and Visa averages approximately 1700 TPS. $HTR 11/25

𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆
While $BTC halving occurs approximately every 4 years, $HTR has yearly halvings. In short, halving is when the pace of new token creation is cut in half by splitting the reward for mining a block. #Hathor 12/25

𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮
Additionally, projects building on #HathorNetwork are required to deposit 1 $HTR token per 100 custom tokens created. As more projects build on #Hathor, more $HTR is locked consequently reducing the circulating supply. 13/25

𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝗧𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗻𝘀
Tokens can be created in seconds from the Hathor wallet, on the mobile app or desktop, with no coding required. Creators have full control of everything from the name, symbol and initial supply to future token burns and token minting. $HTR 14/25
