One year Nysc so far has taught me that

1. Decent Houses are expensive to rent, lands are expensive to buy. How does the common man actually own a house?

2. Many Nigerians are really unemployed. The pay compared to the standard of living is nothing to write home about (1)

An adult coming to work daily, earning 30k monthly? How? Transport is probably 5-10k monthly, then feeding Jesus. Then you want to save to pay rent or buy a land. Sounds like an impossibility. Let’s imagine you now married and now with child. Damnnn (2)

3. Many Nigerians are suffering and smiling. Many Nigerians are at jobs that they don’t enjoy just because they want to make ends meet. Many Nigerians stay in homes or situations because they don’t have options.

4. The rich will likely keep getting richer and the poor hmmm.
The person who hasn’t even had money to make ends meet, how would they invest in crypto? or take some financial risks? How will they expand their business or learn new skills? (4)

5. Don’t ridicule people, it’s not easy. Because it’s easy for you doesn’t mean they are lazy. Many people are trying their best to the extent they can but the results ain’t just coming up yet.

6. Be kind to people. Many people are going through things they can’t talk about. Yes, they can’t write their problems on their head or look down because it’s not all rosy but please be nice. Speak well to people. If you can, give people gifts even when they don’t ask.

7. Anyone can help you. Most people that have helped me didn’t know me before. One thing led to the other and they helped me or recommended me to offers. Build relationships. Be nice to everyone. Sometimes, help comes from places we don’t expect.

8. Prayer works. Prayer directs. Prayers brings opportunities. Prayer connects one to those people one needs. Prayer makes things happen. Always pray about everything. Always pray in every situation.

9. Small gifts matter. Give to people. Don’t just keep receiving. Give too (8)

10. People can be crazy a times. Don’t expect people to always be nice just because you are nice.

People will show you crazy once a while. Be prepared.

11. Money will forever be important. Calm down in searching for it but abeg have it. It will save you from stress (9)
