Think you’re on the right side of history? Write down exactly what you believe with regard to culturally contentious issues. Be as specific as possible: trans women in sports, cultural appropriation, anti-racism, white fragility, critical race theory, equity, reparations, etc.

The more specific you are, the more difficult it will be to lie to yourself.

Writing down exactly what you believe will make it more difficult to convince yourself that you were right all along, yet easier to lie to others when you realize you weren’t on the right side of history, and in fact, were damaging yourself and others.
