I know there are some doubts about how big and how fast the impact of this move, but it is absolutely the right call to make sure nothing stands in the way of rapid global rollout of Covid vaccines. This is a fantastic act of US leadership. https://twitter.com/AmbassadorTai/status/1390021205974003720

Caveat 2:

But still, this is an important step and an important statement of global solidarity.
Sort of Caveat 3:

(However it is used as a tool, as technology transfer and/or negotiating lever, is fine by me).
What we need is rapid expansion of production and the cash to pay for delivery to the whole world. Because of time and capacity issues, IPR wavers may be a small part of that story. But putting them on the table means we can find out.
Small drops in pharma share prices suggest markets agree with Alex. Good news for those worried about any chilling effect on the incentive to innovate, bad signal for those hoping IP waivers would slash pharma profits b/c waiver would reduce price? https://twitter.com/atabarrok/status/1390043304281010177
For those who like their caveats extended... https://twitter.com/glassmanamanda/status/1390320696644014081
(Just on pharma stock price changes, I called them small because as of about now they bring J&J's stock price back to the level of May 3rd, Pfizer's stock price back to April 30th, Moderna's back to the level of April 20th).
But everyone should agree we still need this: https://twitter.com/cgdev/status/1390305537674424320
