This Barr business is a watershed moment for Merrick Garland. In 2 weeks, he has to either hand over the OLC memo to the court, or appeal the decision. How he chooses to respond will be a good indicator of whether he wants to ignore the past, or hold people accountable.

An important caveat: if Garland objects to handing the memo over, it may be because it’s part of an ongoing investigation- which would be good news - and he may say that in his response. Or they may file it under seal. Keep that in mind before throwing your hands up.
