Los Angeles County responds to Vanessa Bryant’s lawsuit.

LA is being sued by Vanessa after police allegedly took inappropriate photos of Kobe and the crash site and shared these throughout the department.

The county admits fault but says Vanessa still has no case.

A thread👇
Per LA County, Vanessa “brought this lawsuit because she is concerned that photographs may be publicly disseminated.”

The county says that “showing an accident site photograph to one member of the public cannot constitute an invasion of Plaintiff’s privacy” under California law.
To prove fault, Vanessa and her attorney plan to blitz Los Angeles County with discovery by conducting “more than forty depositions, forensic examinations of electronic devices and cloud-based storage accounts in the possession of Defendants and third parties, and expert reports”
Vanessa remains on the offensive after taking to Instagram to blast Sheriff’s deputies who allegedly shared graphic photos from the helicopter crash that killed Kobe, Gianna and 7 others.

Here are some of her IG posts detailing the names/claims of deputies within the department.
The county continues to argue that photos were not given to media and weren’t on the internet— and that should be enough.

However, under the law, if Vanessa can ultimately prove that these photos reached the public, she will have a significantly stronger case against the police.
All in all, it’s a bold move by LA County to essentially claim they’re in the wrong MORALLY but not LEGALLY. Can’t imagine a jury will take too kindly to this.
