A. People were broke. B. People got a front row seat to how we actually treat parents. I made someone cry in a meeting because I said the baby making noise was fine. Apparently some of you thought yelling at parents of toddlers was a good idea during meetings. https://twitter.com/WilcoxNMP/status/1389904910238588928">https://twitter.com/WilcoxNMP...
Daycare costs are now almost triple what they were 20 years ago. And quite a few people had to learn the hard way that their cis male partners were actually doing nothing useful at home. Even if they had a child, who would have another one in this situation? It sounds like hell.
But let& #39;s say you do plan on kids...most people are going to wait until they know their job, health care, chances of going outside are stable. It& #39;s a pandemic. Might as well wait, make sure it isn& #39;t the Apocalypse
Also if you create a society where only the well off can afford to reproduce then you guarantee a lower birth rate. Fun fact, rich people don& #39;t tend to have large families. But even if they do? The 1% cannot reproduce at a rate that replaces the kids everyone else isn& #39;t having.
