how mackenzi lee (the author of the novel where loki is pan) is biphobic: when asked about changing his sexuality, she said "i do not see it as erasure, rather increased inclusion." the ideology that pansexuality is more inclusive is extremely harmful and biphobic. (1/?)
she also said "he's pan because he likes outside of binary" implying bisexuals are only attracted to binary genders. as a bisexual with a nonbinary partner this is especially offensive to me. (2/?)
another quote is: "while i understand the pain of bisexual erasure, i know there are pansexual marvel fans who feel erased by hearing Loki referred to as bisexual." she literally admitted to intentional bi erasure. (3/?)
"I've had people upset because I've referred to myself and sometimes my characters as bisexual, since that implies binary and that there are only two genders." again, the annoying ideology that bi people can't be attracted to nonbinary folk! (4/?)
and then saying bisexuality means 2 genders? incredibly harmful. bisexuality has NEVER meant 2. it has NEVER been binary. bisexuality means attraction to same and different genders. (homo: same, hetero: different, bi: same and different.) (5/?)
i am so sick of people claiming pan erasure when someone mentions loki being bi in the upcoming series. he's been bi since 2013. he's bi in DOZENS of comics, and then pan in ONE novel written by a biphobe. and the novel isn't even canon to the mcu or earth 616 universe. (6/6).
