Got the first dose of the Covishield vaccine at Apollo Hospital, Bannerghatta (Bangalore). We are both under 45, and I booked the slot on the Aarogya Setu app. Here’s how

I blindly hit buttons after choosing the center (which, btw, doesn’t have an address) - didn’t stop to check time slot/vaccine name/price. Super privileged take so don’t @ me

Our appointment was confirmed at Apollo Bannerghatta for 9 am on May 4th. Once the appointment has been made you get a confirmation message (one for each person registered), and you also need to download the appointment confirmation (available on the portal/ app).
We went 1 hour ahead of the appointment start time - please get their early. Keep your appointment confirmation, ID card (whatever you used to register), a pen and water bottle with you. DOUBLE MASK AND CARRY SANITIZER. When we arrived, we had to take a token.
The security guard had just started handing them out. For heavens sake, don’t argue about who gets it first or how soon. Just stay seated and be courteous to hospital staff. We got token #29.
At some point while you wait they will give you a consent form to fill, which is why you need the pen. They will also ask you to download the Apollo app because.. app downloads vanity metric

They take you inside in batches of 10, which again the security guard facilitated. When you are inside at the billing counter, they will ask you to show appointment confirmation + ID card.
After confirming on the Govt portal, they’ll send you to pay (we paid ₹850 per head at Apollo Bannerghatta for dose #1 of Covishield). Take receipt, go to vaccination room. The vaccination itself happens in a flash. Barely takes 2 mins. Here’s @GeethVaz getting his!
Then, you go to another room next door to pick up your certificate. You can leave after this, but we were advised by older people in our family to sit for a bit in the car and see how we felt before heading home 
Slots are limited so keep trying. The appointment booking system is....painful. Discriminatory. Chance-based. There really has to be a more inclusive system, but this is what we have to work with at the moment
