The tragedy of loving someone who only ever wanted to have a family, and you know you can give that to them...you're just not the one they want that with.
The tragedy of loving someone you have to condition yourself to not hope for, because every care, every help, and every assistance they'd give you will never mean that much to them, even if it meant the world to you.
The tragedy of having to face the woman of your dreams in the real world where she can never be yours and that peaceful life you've always dreamed of is nothing but a selfish desire you have to squash and burry deep inside your heart, never to be seen by anyone–especially her.
The tragedy of loving someone you hurt for every time they're put in a situation where they can't defend the one they love, and as they look on at you for some sort of assistance, you can't help it. You hate seeing them this way, and so you say exactly the words to calm them.
The tragedy of knowing you would abandon everything for the person you love in order to make sure they're alright; that they're not hurt more than they should be—that you'd be there to catch them, be strong for them, when there's nothing left for them to do but be human and weak.
The tragedy of having to love someone from one step behind. Knowing that their strength and courage in battle would never stop you from wanting to protect them if things go wrong–as they always do.
The tragedy of loving someone who would put their life on the line for somebody you care for as well, understanding the part of them that wants to do brave and stupid things for the one they love, because you know you'd do it for them in a heartbeat. Still, it breaks you.
That's the tragedy of loving someone you can never confess to—you try your best to keep it from them & everyone. You try your best to show it in the most acceptable of ways, but love always finds a way to make itself known if it has to,
