Some misconceptions regarding the Covid vaccines:

1. That it's just as safe as any other vaccine.
2. That if you understand how the concept of mRNA vaccines work in theory then you can judge whether or not it's safe.
3. That it's the only option to protect self or loved ones.
(note I'm not implying that that means the Covid vaccines don't work by needle-syringe injection, just that when you apply theory to the real world it can have unexpected results)
We've also had special challenges developing vaccines for viruses like SARS-CoV specifically.

"The phenomenon of VADE has, however, erected substantial barriers to the development of vaccines for some viruses, including, RSV, DENV, SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV." https://twitter.com/OriginalStacia/status/1388304607542013956?s=20
Thankfully scientists are very confident that ADE won't be a problem with these new Covid vaccines.

"we should wait and watch for better evidence to completely rule out ADE, but no evidence for ADE has been found so far."

If you're someone like me who normally gets all the vaccines, you probably have a lot of faith in their safety. But we're used to vaccines that have been used and studied for decades. There have been new vaccines that have gone horribly wrong before. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dengvaxia_controversy
One of the scientists who worked on the above study responded to concerns that the vaccines themselves could be making people actually sick by saying, "If it made enough spike protein to make you sick, everyone would know." 👀
An analysis of the VAERS system being used to report adverse reactions to the Covid vaccine found that "fewer than 1% of vaccine adverse events are reported. Low reporting rates preclude or slow the identification of “problem” drugs and vaccines that endanger public health."
