Just blocked a bunch of TERFs for @NaziBlocker, and I'm kind of exhausted now.
They were actively harassing a woman for using the term "people who menstruate" in a medical context.
Looking at the threads of people who are getting harassed is really useful for Nazi Blocker, because then I can get the people who are out there actively harassing, who are the most important people to block.
Transphobia is probably the most exhausting thing for me to deal with when managing Nazi Blocker, honestly. It's so prevalent, it applies directly to me, and people are willing to be so violent just out in the open.
Since I do all the blocking for Nazi Blocker by myself, it can be pretty draining. I think it's worth it for the community, though.
btw, when I say transphobia is the hardest thing for me to deal with personally while working on this project, I don't mean that it's The Biggest Oppression or anything. I'm not playing oppression olympics, I'm just talking about what affects me personally.
Other bigotry can be just as violent, and it can also still be extremely upsetting. But transphobia and antisemitism are the main things that affect me directly, so I have more skin in the game, if that makes sense.
That said, I've also seen racist tweets that made me feel physically sick, so it's not like I'm totally unaffected.
Sorry, I didn't mean for this thread to turn into me complaining about how hard it is to manage Nazi Blocker. I'm just rambling, really. I do find the work really fulfilling, even though it's hard.
