*A thread* I rarely talk about my WNBA journey but man, I remember draft day and my name did NOT get called. My heart was shattered bc my dream was crushed. I really thought it was over until I got the call from Michael Cooper head coach of the LA Sparks
I was driving home from Penn State to Pittsburgh and he calls and says, "Kam! We wanted to draft u baby but we needed a point guard but we want u in our camp as a free agent!" The tears turned into hope. Until I got into training camp

I look to my right its Candace Parker, look to my left its Lisa Leslie. Oh lets not forget Delisha Milton-Jones and Marie Ferdinand-Harris. In the WNBA that year. I was confident but very realistic in my expectations of making the Sparks roster that year. I couldnt believe it. It was 6 straight weeks of 2 a days every single day. We did not get a day off until the day before our first official game. We were tired but we knew not to quit until it was over. In my case, until I made the team.
The last day comes and it was time to make cuts. Penny Toler and Coop were making cuts. The funny thing is when the draft happens u want to hear your name. I made the damn team yall!!!
I made one of the hardest training camps in the league as an undrafted free agent. The best time of my life. I guess yall are wondering why Im telling this story?! Well, some didnt hear their name in the past few weeks in the WNBA draft and NFL draft. Delayed but not denied!!!
