If you’re someone with really bad reply times, with all the love in my heart, don’t pop up trying to check in on someone
I say this to say, many people need consistency and reliability when opening up to someone, so when you’re giving inconsistent replies it makes the person feel like they don’t want to bother you with their issues as they think you’re busy due to your long replies
This causes them to withdraw further and tell you they’re “fine” to avoid being a burden
Encouraging messages here and there are always kind, but if you genuinely want to check on the well-being of your friend please set out some time and have patience, it may take them a while to open up
Phone calls are also a good option if you’re not a texter, but be an active listener, hear what they have to say not what you think they’ll say and be patient with them
I know some friendships work differently and have an understanding that long replies are cool but this is all my opinion from my own experience, some people may feel differently about thishttps://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤷🏾‍♀️" title="Achselzuckende Frau (durchschnittlich dunkler Hautton)" aria-label="Emoji: Achselzuckende Frau (durchschnittlich dunkler Hautton)">
