Shallow solidarity says I need you to show up for me, but I have very little interest in also showing up for you during your crisis (although I might hide insults in slightly mispronounced words rather than helping you escape/heal from the trauma)
...while I gain recognition preaching about the ways our wellbeing is inextricably tied.
While I care about humanity and have no interest in being at odds with people like that, I don't consider them trustworthy with my wellbeing in any way
I'll still show up to do my part to show my solidarity for people who need it, to the best of my ability, as I have even during my own crises over the last few years. I just have to actually start taking better care of myself first.
