I’ve seen a lot of progressive NYC people & orgs encouraging folks to rank Morales & Wiley in their top 2 & leave it at that. While I fully support ranking those 2 first, it’s a mistake to leave the rest of your slate blank.
Under RCV, your 3 - 5 choices come into play ONLY when your 1 & 2 choices have been eliminated from the race. So if you rank M & W as your 1 & 2 and one of them wins, amazing— your 3 - 5 choices will never matter. But...
If you only rank M & W as your 1 & 2 and they are eliminated, your ballot will be discarded. This is why I recommend putting Yang OR Adams as your last choice if they are polling as far ahead of the rest of the field as they are today.
The beauty of RCV is you can vote for your faves AND ensure that you have a say between the final 2 candidates — and doing the latter IN NO WAY hurts your ability to do the former.
If you have any preference at all between Y & A, you should pick one in order to hurt the chances of the other.

(This thread is for the people who read my tweets who are not Y or A fans — obviously many folks like those 2, & if you’re one of them the above does not apply.)
(I mean pick one as your last choice, ah!)
