evaluating the Boston Celtics young core (thread):
let’s start with Jayson Tatum, I think we all know he’s gonna be a superstar one day, and I think he’s a top 3 U25 player rn, there’s not a lot to say especially with his performance last night and I think he can be the best player on a championship team
then we have Jaylen Brown, along with JT he’s one of the best U25 two-way players in the game, I still think he hasn’t reached his peak yet and I do believe that he’s gonna be a Paul George type player, his playmaking and off-ball defense could do some work but he’s still a star
then we have Robert Williams, he’s one of the most underrated young bigs in the league and he provides good energy and hustle, ion think he’s gonna develop an outside shot but if he can improve on less-fouling he’ll be very special to this team one day
then we have Payton Pritchard, I don’t think his ceiling isn’t that high like what people are saying that he’s gonna be a prime FVV but I do believe he can provide a similar role on what Fred did with raptors in their championship run like that sixth man two-way guard
we have Aaron Nesmith who I think is gonna be a valuable role player one day, his 3 point shooting has been inconsistent so far but he’s just a rookie but his hustle plays is why he made his way up in to the current rotation
rn is the youngest player on the team which is Romeo Langford, I still have high hopes for him, his defense is gonna be elite but his offense is atrocious and if he could stay healthy he can end up being an Avery Bradley type player if he could develop a jumper
then we have fan favorite Grant Williams, I have mixed feelings about this dude I still don’t know if he’s gonna be that PJ Tucker or he might be just an another Semi Ojeleye, nonetheless he provides good defense and can shoot 1/5 threes in a single game
and Carsen Edwards who I like watching sometimes, he hasn’t getting minutes but I think he might be out of the league in 2 years unless if a team like Houston picks him up, nonetheless he’s a chucker but he loves playing against the Cavs
at last we have Tremont Waters, who I wouldn’t be shocked if he revived his career somewhere else like PJ Dozier or something but he just have no room for the team as of rn but hey he’s hardworking and is actually one of our best passers
