The system-agnostic oracles and generation tables in #Ironsworn #Starforged are probably something I haven't done a very good job highlighting as a feature. I think they offer a great mix of grounded and gonzo for sci-fi settings.

They are structured to support a sense of discovery. You don't reveal everything about a planet, creature, person, settlement, or whatever at first glance. Instead, you roll to reveal the obvious stuff, the first impressions, and then delve deeper with new aspects over time.

The oracles were a TON of work, and I'm pretty proud of them. Our data guru @r_sek tells me there are 3,000 unique table results. A universe of possibilities! And it's all included in the Preview Edition, an instant reward for Kickstarter backers.

This came to mind thanks to this thread over on Reddit. If you've used the oracles to generate something cool, wonderous, or horrifying -- or had one of those moments where an oracle result is a PERFECT fit for the fiction -- I'd love to hear about it! https://www.reddit.com/r/rpg/comments/n2kn20/heads_up_starforged_is_a_great_resource_for_sci/
