It's #InternationalWorkersDay and here in Ontario, workers have been failed at every corner. This was not inevitable; Ford's conservatives chose their own political skin above workers every time.

Here's a thread of the choices made, and what could have been:
Personal support workers are overworked, underpaid, and under-appreciated. There still are not enough PSWs to handle the crisis in long-term care, and Ford has failed to protect PSWs throughout the pandemic: https://ontariondp.ca/support-psws
Artists and creatives have largely been left behind in COVID-19 supports. They were already struggling with funding cuts before the pandemic, and the impact on Ontario’s vibrant culture will last years: https://ontariondp.ca/artists-need-your-support
Small businesses have felt the impacts of lockdowns hardest. While big box stores continue to thrive, Ford’s Conservatives have largely left small businesses without support: https://www.ontariondp.ca/support-small-business
Ford’s cuts put Laurentian University at risk. And now, in the middle of a pandemic, staff are losing their jobs, and students are missing out on their education: https://www.ontariondp.ca/save-laurentian
These are only a few examples of how Ford has failed workers, and more importantly, a vision for how things could have been different.

We need a government that supports workers with concrete action, not just empty words and empty promises.
