The Significance of the Numbers on the Train (thread)

#InfinityTrain #FinishInfinityTrain #RenewInfinityTrain
So, I was inspired by this tweet a while back, and went down a mini-rabbit hole on number meanings. When I came back to it, I found some really interesting stuff. I want to delve into it a little deeper in this thread. https://twitter.com/jesseandlake/status/1381746122507575299
The meanings of these numbers is rooted in both the newer concept of Angel Numbers, and also in the older concept of Numerology. I think certain numbers are rooted in one, the other, or both.
Numerology's goal is to get to the root number. To do this, reduce digits until you reach a single-digit number. So if you have 84 for example, you add 8+4=12, then 1+2=3. Your number would be 3. Angel numbers are based more in religion and spirituality.
Now, to specifics. One thing I was confused about was Lizard Girl's number. Why was it so high? What was the purpose of showing it to us?
86, when reduced to a single digit, is 5. The meaning doesn't pertain to lizard girl, but rather *Lake.* It's the number she was trying to get, and that was rejected.
This is the meaning of the number 5. Specifically note the last few lines. What's the train rejecting in that moment? Lake's *humanity.* It passes through her hand because it rejects her as a person, as she exclaims to the porter.
Another number that correlates with Numerology is Simon's number when he's found by Grace, which was 55. 55, when reduced to single-digets, is 1. The meaning of 1 can be seen below.
At this point in Simon's life, he begins anew with Grace, for better or for worse. His fate is in his hands, and his slate is clean. Personally, I'd say that's pretty spot-on.
In terms of angel numbers, which function without the single-diget rule, two stuck out to me: Amelia's and Tulip's, who's starting numbers were 337 and 115 respectively.
337's meaning is pictured below. I really do think this applies to Amelia extremely well. At the point where Amelia boards the train, she's suffered a great loss. Not only of Alrick, but of stability in life. The reminder to live with joy is also notable.
With Tulip's number, 115, there's an emphasis on analysis and independance. Tulip's a very detail-oriented, analytical person, especially in regards to the train cars. She also refuses to rely on others, as pointed out by Lake in "The Chrome Car."
There's been many times where a number is showcased. Why would the specific number matter? Many numbers don't really seem to correlate to the size of the problem, in my opinion. I think we're shown these numbers for a reason.
In a show with such an emphasis on numbers, it would make sense that each specific number may have a deeper meaning. As I've shown above, there's at least a few instances where an important number had a relevant meaning, and I think that's really cool.
There may be more numbers to dig into- hell, I'm sure there is! Who knows how many random instances of numbers actually mean something really interesting. I guess we just have to keep an eye out for them.
