Minister @rebeccakschulz continues to oppose fed supports for affordable child care for Alberta families by saying "wherever implemented...universal child care plans have only allowed non-profit child care centres to participate."

Not true in Quebec, where supports are given to parents using for-profit child care.
Not true in Alberta, where we made it clear in our 2019 platform & our Early Learning & Child Care proposal that $25/day child care would include for-profit providers. https://www.albertasfuture.ca/albertas-future/albertas-future-campaigns/post/early-learning-and-affordable-childcare-strategy">https://www.albertasfuture.ca/albertas-...

Not true of the announcement in the federal Budget 2021 for child care which states it will include supports for *all* licensed or regulated child care, including for-profit providers. #ableg
But what I take away most from Minister Schulz& #39;s article is she is trying to back-pedal from her initial strong rebuke of the fed announcement. Because Albertans have made it clear that they want universal, affordable, quality child care. And the UCP keep getting it wrong. #ableg
So keep up the pressure, Albertans. Demand that - for once - the UCP listen to you. #ableg
