When Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) entered Makkah with his ten thousand followers on 18th Ramadan 8 hijrah, the Qureish which had so cruelly ill-treated him was completely at his mercy. But in the hour of triumph every evil suffered was forgotten, every injury inflicted was forgiven...
The army of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) under his command entered Makkah — city of their bitterest enemies peaceably; no house was robbed, no woman was insulted.

It's been truly said that “Through all the annals of conquest, there has been no triumphant entry like unto this one”
Allah says in the Glorious Qur'an!

وَمَاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنٰكَ اِلَّا رَحۡمَةً لِّـلۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ (الأنبياء :١٠٧)
And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.
While addressing the Quraish, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

"O ye Quraish, what do you think of the treatment that I should accord you?"

And they said, “Mercy, O Prophet of Allah. We expect nothing but good from you”

The Prophet declared: "I speak to you in the same words...
...as Hazrat Yousaf (AS) spoke to his brothers. This day there is no reproof against you; Go your way, for you are free”

Imam Ahmed Raza Khan said it in beautiful words:

مصطفی جانِ رحمت پہ لاکھوں سلام
شمعِ بزمِ ہدایت پہ لاکھوں سلام
One hundred years after the death of Prophet Mohamed (PBUH), his followers were ruling an empire greater than that of Rome at its zenith, an empire which extended from the Bay of Biscay to the Indus and the confines of China.
Max Rodenbeck writes:
“Few events in history have had so swift, profound and far-reaching an impact as the arrival of Islam. Within a mere 15 years of the Prophet Muhammad’s death, in 632 AD, his desert followers had conquered all the centers of ancient Near Eastern civilization”
