Recommendations for maintaining a healthy mindset throughout the lockdowns - a thread https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="⬇️" title="Pfeil nach unten" aria-label="Emoji: Pfeil nach unten">
st Step: maintain a natural sleeping routine. It may sound obvious, but most people (myself included) easily fall into the trap of disregarding sleeping routines because of a lack of commute routines, caused by the lockdowns.
nd step: use natural light to wake up, not artificial ones. Open your window and blinds to allow the sun to wake you up, rather than oversleeping and bashing your alarm every five minutes while languishing in bed.
rd step: whatever you do when you wake up, avoid social media and any means of instant gratification - games, tv, etc.
th step: even if you’re not going to be leaving the house for work, get dressed anyway and take a 10 minute walk before returning home and beginning your day’s work. It’ll help your brain realise you’ve just “”commuted”” and get ready for the day.
th step: avoid overworking, staring at screens too much; and make sure to engage in conversations with others, even if online and just for five minutes. Your brain needs the social interaction to recharge from all the work.
th step: work out. Exercising will help you clear your mind, you can do it in the morning if you need help waking up, or in the afternoon after working if you need it to take a rest mentally from all the work.
th step: keep active, don’t fall into the trap of thinking “oh I’m just going to lay down on the couch five minutes”, you won’t be getting back up anytime soon and won’t get work done.
th step: sleep according to natural timings. Go to bed between 22:00 and 00:00, no amount of studying or work is worth losing years of life because you slept less hours that one week.
