Twitch Tips. A thread.
➖ Many big Twitch teams that accept anyone are pyramid schemes that really only benefit the people at the top.

Not all of course. But try and find genuine connections.
➖ Don't rely on 'just Twitch' for growth.

Discoverability on Twitch is god awful. DO NOT fall for the trap of thinking that more hours streamed = guaranteed success. Start a Tik Tok / Insta / YT channel too and use them.
➖ Don't trust people who say they will 'make you big' on Twitch. This includes stream coaches who amassed their following by being stream coaches.

Even if they are pulling in thousands of viewers, that they didn't get from scamming smaller creators, there are zero guarantees.
➖ Don't call yourself a small streamer or use the hashtag.

While it might look like an easy way to get viewers it literally does nothing but hurt your credibility with potential sponsors.
➖ Collab with people!

It's some of the most fun you can have streaming and a great way of building your audience. Which leads us onto...
➖ Don't network with people with the sole intention of growth. It's super shitty and people can smell it a mile away. Don't be that person.

Instead actually take an interest in your peers. You could potentially form some amazing friendships.
➖ Partner isn't everything.

You may have dreams about hitting that goal of the purple checkmark. But that will not be the end of your journey.

It takes a lot of hard work to stay relevant and grow.
A lot of us struggle with this part. Hell even I do.
That's all for now. If I have anymore I will add them below.

Or let me know your best tips and I will feature them!
➖ Familiarise yourself with Twitch etiquette.

Including things like not using other peoples chats for self promotion, learning the meanings behind the use of certain emotes, etc.
➖ Are you the type of person that hates Hot Tub streamers because you think they're stealing your viewers?

Well. You're wrong for starters, but if you really don't like it you can hit the 3 dots next to the channel suggestion and hit 'Not Interested' and it will remove it.
