thinking about the person who bussed their whole table’s dishes last night and then told us “work sucks, work during covid-19 sucks, thank you for providing excellent service we will definitely be back” even tho the service was probably nOT excellent. I wish blessings upon them
the service industry extra sucks right now, because places are returning to pre-pandemic levels of busy but still have pandemic levels of staff but everyone wants to be served like there’s full staff and everything is fine
on a busy night at the bar we’re all sleep-deprived, dehydrated, malnourished, covered in foreign substances from head to toe, and trying to do 50 things at once while nursing various hand and foot injuries, and if you’re nice to us then yes I will think you’re an angel!!!!!
honestly my hierarchy of needs when it comes to interacting with guests has become so warped that I have transcended the need to discuss things like tipping. I just want you to be nice to us
but also TIP because part of the whole point of this thread is that service workers are brutalizing themselves physically mentally and emotionally with no guarantee of worthwhile take-home pay so like jesus god please tip whenever and wherever you can
