The future is not a given unless we tackle #climateChange. Unfortunately, due to the structure of our society, I believe that in order to best that, we need to enable the masses first. By that I'm talking about #BasicIncome #UBI. 1/12
It's been proven before many times that people aren't stupid or lazy. They are generally good-hearted and want to contribute to society. Poverty and the scarcity mentality that comes with it is crippling and forces short-term thinking. 2/12
This results in most people making what some would call "bad choices" because they feel trapped and without better options. Now how does this affect climate change? Climate change is a long-term threat whereas food/shelter is something I need now. 3/12
If my basic needs are met BEFORE my contributions to society, I am free to think long-term. I am also free to do things that no one currently pays for. Like help save the environment. 4/12
Our society has created a #feedbackLoopOfDestruction and it's destroying what we need to survive. We need to get this in check soon, or our kids and their children won't have a future to look forward to. But most people aren't in a position to help with this. We need #ubi 5/12
There is also another trend that gives me hope. And that's #cryptocurrency. The rise of #DeFi can turn the traditional financing on its head. The mentality of #communityInvesting that projects like #safemoon and #safemars have created is inspiring. 6/12
Projects that have taken a different spin on the same mechanic are looking to make a difference. @SafeEarthETH is one makes donations to charities helping fight #climateChange. They have donated to @TheOceanCleanup #crypto4charity 7/12
@elongateog is another that makes donations to charities that are making the world a better place. Yesterday they donated almost $390k to @NEXTforAUTISM on the #ColorTheSpectrum to provide support for adults with autism. #crypto4charity 8/12
@IcecapNft is another project that is working with charities focused on curbing climate change like @RainforestTrust, @coolearth, and @Greenpeace. #crypto4charity 9/12
@philosoraptorT1 is another project that will donate to charities helping fight #climateChange. They are still in the early stages but are growing fast. #crypto4charity 10/12
@LonelyFansBSC is another, albeit more adult-oriented project. They are working with content creators on @OnlyFans like @QuinnLaBelleza, @april_summerz, and @australianpeech to raise funds to donate to charities that fight human trafficking. #crypto4charity 11/12
