Short thread to debunk the "I don't want them to lift heavy in-season. I need them fresh. Let's lift light and maintain" idea that many sport coaches have been led to believe. It's passed down generationally. Intensity or "heavy", doesn't make you tired. VOLUME does. 1/3
Take a squat w/ 1RM of 315 lbs. If you go 90% of 315, it's 285 lbs. If you program 6x1 at 285 lbs, that's 1710 lbs total lifted.
If you go 60% of 315, it's 190 lbs. So say you go the standard 3x10. That = 5700 lbs total lifted.

Explain how lifting 1710 lbs total will make you more tired than lifting 5700 lbs total.
