Because many people on this app keep getting shit for having a bad dental hygiene because of depression/sensory issues but no one actually offers help, I& #39;m making a tiny thread on it.
Disclaimer, I& #39;m not a dentist or anything, but I have chronic depression and sensory issues because of my neurodivergency, and both of these have caused damage to my teeth (cavities at age 4 and often enough after, not able to wear braces, generally ugly teeth).
Tips for depression:
- buy disposable toothbrushes that don& #39;t need water and place them next to ur bed/sofa
- i believe some kind of gum also exists for this purpose
- brush ur teeth when u go to the toilet cause u will end up needing a toilet at one point of the day +

So that& #39;s two in one, and then you& #39;re already in the bathroom.
- brush ur teeth with just water or for little time if you can& #39;t bring yourself to brush 3 minutes or with toothpaste
- drink water if possible, not sugary drinks.

Tips for sensory issues:
- buy toothpaste thats mild or even without mint. Preferably at ~1400ppm of fluoride, but if u can& #39;t find one, go for kids toothpaste if you must
- buy children toothbrushes because they& #39;re smaller
- buy soft toothbrushes (not good for everyone but +

better than nothing either way)
- brush with your finger if a toothbrush is too little control. It& #39;s not good, but better than nothing.
- implement it into your routine, set yourself fix times to brush your teeth and follow through with it.

Some of these things would NOT be recommended by dentists, but a little bit of dental hygiene is still better than none at all, so stick to whatever you& #39;re able to do at the moment, but do try to implement more into ur daily life if possible.
